1. Continuity of Care
After having surgery, you may need assistance with getting dressed, cooking, ambulation and bathing, due to your aftercare restrictions and healing requirements provided by your surgeon. When you book a short-term stay with Beattie Manor, our caregivers can assist you with these tasks. They handle everything from preparing meals to making sure you maintain proper personal hygiene. This also helps family members, as they can prepare your home without interrupting your daily schedule, whether you need a wheelchair ramp or grab bars installed.
2. Socialization
Experts and doctors from around the world all agree that socialization is essential for staying healthy and maintaining a high quality of life. Depending on the surgery you are having, you may have trouble getting out due to mobility restrictions and fatigue, which can result in feelings of isolation and loneliness. Beattie Manor’s activity calendar touches on all domains of wellness – Mental, Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, and Social. Respite care lets you socialize without leaving the community.
3. Health and Wellness staff available 24/7
Our care staff consists of 24 hour, 7 days a week access to our RPN on duty and our PSW’s. Our Nursing team will collaborate with your other health care providers to ensure your recovery is progressing through respite accordingly and timely. The care staff will monitor your care closely and record symptoms and progress including, medication and dietary requirements. This team-based approach helps you recover so that you can return home confidently.
4. Access to Community Support Services for Rehabilitative Therapy
Often after surgery, many do not have the energy to leave the house to go to appointments. You will likely require some rehabilitation with the assistance of a Physiotherapists or Occupational Therapist. Our Home and Community Support Services of Windsor and Essex County have access to our home to provide you those services, if you are assessed and approved. We also offer through our vitality programs light sit down exercises to keep you moving.
